This Refunds and Returns Policy applies to all purchases made through The Risk Academy website and services.
By purchasing from us, you agree to the terms set out below.
Overview of products and services
We provide the following products and services:
- Self-paced online training courses
- One-year membership subscriptions
- Face-to-face and live training courses
All digital products are delivered electronically and access is provided immediately following successful payment.
Digital courses and online training
Access to online courses is granted immediately after payment via login details provided to the purchaser.
Once access to a digital course has been provided, you expressly acknowledge that:
- The service has begun immediately
- The statutory 14-day cooling-off period is waived in accordance with UK consumer law for digital content
As a result, refunds are not automatically available once course access has been granted.
Refund requests may be considered only in limited circumstances and at our sole discretion.
Memberships and subscriptions
Memberships are provided on a one-year basis unless otherwise stated.
- Memberships may be cancelled at any time
- Cancellation stops future renewal only
- No partial or pro-rata refunds are provided for unused membership periods
Once a membership term has started, fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we determine a refund is appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
Face-to-face and live training
Refunds for face-to-face or live training courses are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Factors considered may include:
- Notice provided before the event
- Whether attendance has already occurred
- Operational or venue costs incurred
Any approved refund may be subject to reasonable administrative deductions.
Refund requests
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

- Purchaser name
- Order reference
- Product or course purchased
- Reason for the request
Refunds are not guaranteed and will be assessed individually.
Technical issues
If you experience technical issues that prevent access to purchased content, you must contact us promptly.
We will first attempt to resolve the issue through troubleshooting or alternative access.
If access cannot be reasonably restored, a refund may be offered at our discretion.
Chargebacks and payment disputes
Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, you must contact us directly to allow us the opportunity to resolve the issue.
Unauthorised chargebacks may result in:
- Immediate suspension or termination of account access
- Withdrawal of course or membership access
- Refusal of future service
All chargebacks are handled manually by our team.
Payment methods
Payments are currently processed via Stripe.
We may introduce additional payment methods in the future. This policy applies to all payment methods used on our website.
Abuse and misuse
We reserve the right to refuse refunds where we reasonably believe that:
- Content has been accessed or consumed
- Refund requests are abusive or repetitive
- The policy is being used to gain unfair access to services

This policy is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
